Pauline Josephine Lester

Pauline Josephine Lester, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Sunday 25 January 2015. She was born in Ireland, in Nenagh, Tipperary County on June 27th 1936, one of thirteen brothers and sisters. She moved to England when she was 16, where she met and married Bud Brunkow of the US Air Force, and spent the next 23 years travelling the world, where she worked as a nurse and was active in both the Church and the NCO Wives Club. She was proudly naturalized as a US citizen in 1965. In 1979 Pauline and Bud retired in Las Vegas, where she worked in the culinary industry in first the Nevada Palace and then at the Desert Inn. Following the passing of Bud in 1998, she retired from the Desert Inn. In 2000 she married JC Lester of Las Vegas, with whom she spent many happy years travelling around the country. Pauline was very proud of her Irish heritage and was known to all she met as an outgoing character, always quick to make a friend and share a laugh. She doted on her grandchildren in both England and in Las Vegas. Nanny Pauline always brought a smile when she saw them and loved sharing in their successes, large and small. Pauline is survived by her husband JC Lester, son John Brunkow, grandchildren James, Daniel, Eric, Allie, Kirstin, Amanda and Phoebe, and brothers John, William, David and Frank and sisters Mary and Christine, plus a large extended family. Visitation and Funeral Service will be at 9:00 AM on Wednesday February 4 at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV. Committal Service will be Wednesday, February 4 at 12:00 PM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV
