It’s been almost 5 years and I still think about you every day. Back then, I wanted to be just like you. I ate like you, tried to make jokes like you, just to be close with you. I liked everything I liked because you liked it first. It’s cheesy, but when I was little all I wanted to do was copy you. But I stopped enjoying the things we used to after you died because you weren’t here to do them with me. When I clean my car I think of you, when I listen to rock music I remember you. I can’t even enjoy my favorite show like I used to, we were watching it together. I finished that anime you used to make fun of and it felt so bittersweet to not hear you mocking them. 5 years later and it hasn’t gotten any easier. I cry about you in my car when I remember a moment we shared. I think you’d be very surprised at how my life has gone since you left. A lot of people I used to hold so dearly are like strangers to me now. I know you would’ve been here and told me to make up with them lol. I take it day at a time, but I think about how you won’t be at my wedding a lot. How I imagined you would’ve reacted at my graduation and so much more.  I wish I could say I’m at peace knowing you’re okay but I’m not. You should’ve never left you should’ve just gotten better. You have a stack of letters by your urn. I write to you alot and get you gifts. I got your favorite sour skittles on your death anniversary so you can enjoy them wherever you are. My good friend recently passed away too. It’s hard not to think of you both when it’s quiet at night, or on drives home. Anyway, it’s almost your birthday which means it’s almost my half birthday!! We used to celebrate together. I love you! I don’t know where to begin Danny. You were a part of my life ever since i was 3 years old. You always found a way to make light of some situations. You and your craziness is what my mother fell in love with. We had so many memories that i hope you held dear to you til your last moments. I hope you went fast and painless. You always told me you wanted to be with your dad again and im at peace knowing that you are where you’ve always wanted to be. It saddens me a bit knowing the family you had here wasn’t enough to ease your pain of losing your father and other issues you had but i know that when things were okay in all our lives, all you wanted was us. And we have always wanted and will always want to have you with us. We wanted our Danny to be happy with his girls and his adoring wife. I will do my best to make you proud of me, i will take care of my mom as she grieves you and i will love my little sister 10x more to make up for what you should’ve been doing. You chose the path you chose but nonetheless we loved you til the end. It’s impossible to forget you Danny and just as impossible to move on. but we will carry you with us as we begin a new chapter of our lives.

Your little brother “Jackson” as you liked to call me  and never understood why lol. But brother I still can’t believe you’re not here now. I am at least at peace that you are not suffering anymore and the lord has saved you with alongside papi. Who you really wanted to be with. You will forever be in my heart and the bond you and I had will always remain and be remembered. I will continue as if you are here because you are, in an Angel form that we can not see but to believe, I do and feel. Rest easy big brother who at times act like the little one. Once we meet again 

Pancho, Mima, and papi, you have another Enriquez up there. May the force of the Enriquez stay strong as we pray for your help and guidance and protection

Brother, I don’t know where to begin with the amount of memories we have together. Starting from my birth up until the end. I will really miss the quality time that we had almost every night watching Discovery Channel or car videos, eating bacon at 3am and dad always complaining about the smell in the house hahaha. You were so cool, you would race a car in a quarter mile with a time: low 8s @ 180mph. WOW. But anyways brother I love you so much and you may not be here now but you will never EVER be forgotten.
