Gladys Cayon was born on August 7, 1933 in Havana, Cuba. That beautiful and precious child was a gift to parents Pedro and Catalina. Gladys completed her earthly duties on Friday, July 2, 2021, passing away at the age of 87.
Gladys is remembered as the life of the party! She enjoyed having a good time and making others laugh along the way. She was a joyful person who was able to find humor in everything. Gladys was also a hard worker. She always made sure she took care of everything and everyone around her.
When asked about Gladys, her family recalls her as being an avid reader. She was also a creative and artistic person. She was self taught in various crafts such as jewelry making and macramé. She was great at whatever she set out to do, that included cooking and baking, especially her delicious sweets. One could write multiple books about the type of wonderful and amazing person Gladys was. If that were to ever happen, those books would list first and foremost that Gladys loved her family and loved spending time with them. There was nothing that could come close to the love that she had for all of her loved ones.
In honor of her life, love and legacy, a Visitation for Gladys will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. at Caballero Rivero Hialeah Funeral Home, 373 West 9 Street, Hialeah, Florida, 33010. Gladys will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 N.W. 57 Avenue, Miami Lakes, Florida, 33014.
Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, the Cemetery is only allowing 20 immediate family members and friends to be present at the Cemetery. The Family asks that if you are able to do so, please come and pay your respects at the Funeral Home. The Committal Service will not be open to the public.
