Good morning everyone, today is the most difficult day of our life because a love one is going to be put to rest.... “ Papa” this is how I called him because he was like a father figure to me.....thank you so much for opening your warm heart to me, for welcoming me in your life, place and your beautiful wonderful family....I remember one occasion we have  a disagreement in Cape Coral, as the time when by he realize it was just a misunderstanding and as soon as we see each other again, out of nowhere, he say “I am sorry, do you know I love you” I remember that I didn’t know either to cry of happiness or give him a big hug but I quickly responded, I know I Love you too” and the rest was history, from their on we bonded. The more we bonded the more I got to know him. He was a very knowledgeable person, he knew a lot of history from his country Cuba, other countries, US, even from where I am from Puerto Rico. It was quiet interesting listening to him of how much he knew about each culture. I will asked him questions about anything in history and he was quickly to response with explicit details. He should have work as History teacher. Lol. He was a quiet remarkable person, unique, generous, noble,   social butterfly, had excellent sense of humor, easy to talk to, good listener, when I asked him for an advice he will give me a straight forward opinion or response, even in a good or bad day, he make the best out it. As soon as I walk into “Mama and Papa”place he will make a joke right away and We will break into a laughter. One day I say to them “Que bueno cocina Mama y Papa” and that became instantly one of our favorite jokes, as soon as I walk into their place, he will said out loud ,  “Oye que bueno cocina Mama and Papa.” We will laugh so hard that tears will come out of our eyes. I will give you an outstanding ovation for how remarkable person you was. I know you have touch many lives the way you have touch mine. I deeply going to miss you so much, love you❤️🌹💐

I had the honor to meet Mr. Herrera at API’s inaugural celebration and hear from him how proud he was of his daughter Diana for what she had accomplished in her life! His words were filled with love and pride! This is a picture of that special day! God bless your soul! 

On March 5th I lost a huge part of my life and my heart. I know that his spirit will forever be present in all of us who loved him dearly, but still...it truly will never be the same without him.  My father was so charismatic that his light would bright up the room on any gloomy day.  I will miss that. I am the woman that I am today because of the man I had as a father. He taught me to be strong, to be free spirited and to always express myself. He was and will forever be my first love, my best friend and my king. I am honored to be his daughter and will live under the legacy he’s left behind.  I have so many wonderful memories that I will always cherish. He left behind a family that will continue be united and full of love because he wouldn’t want it any other way.  Though my heart is heavy, I will find a way to celebrate his life...the life he created for all of us. ❤️  My daddy I will always love you and will miss you tremendously. May you rest in peace. 🙏🏻

Losing a father is one of the most significant losses you will ever experience in your lifetime.  My amazing father-in-law was kind and generous. He was a gregarious man whose infectious smile lit up a room. He loved life and it showed passionately in everything he did, wrote and said.  If you didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him, you did now when he finished with you. It was an honor and a privilege to have had you in my life and I am deeply saddened that the gift of time was not on my side, I wish I had met you sooner dad!  You will forever remain in our hearts and you will be deeply missed by all those who knew you and all those whose lives you touched.  We love you dad, may you rest in eternal peace. 

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.”  1 Corinthians 13:13.  I believe one of the measures of a person’s life can be found in the question, “How well did they love?”  

Paul Herrera loved extraordinarily well!  If this is a measure, he is off the charts.  He loved life, Mitzi, his family, working, helping, TALKING 😊, a good drink and an even better cigar.  To know him was to be treated like family.  His warmth and energy were infectious.  You couldn’t spend more than a few moments with him without smiling; even though there were times he talked so fast I had no idea what he was saying but couldn’t help but smile anyway.

When I think of Mr. H (as I knew him for the past 20+ years), my fondest memories are of the holidays.  Eating, drinking, dancing, and celebrating.  Mr. H in the middle of it all.  He was a beautiful soul, who’s absence now leaves a hole in the hearts of all those he loved and who loved him.  

I miss him already.  I look forward to seeing him again in Heaven someday, where I imagine he already has a party going.

His recipes extended well beyond the kitchen, he seasoned us all with so many flavors and tastes—whether it was, work, family, 
cars, electrical !!! , all prepared to 
perfection — all served  with love —

He understood God’s plan for life and
his purpose will unfold in the
days, months and years ahead —

My heart is completely broken. I thought I had more time. I smile for all the wonderful moments we shared and regret the moments I lost. Daddy I am the woman I am because of the Man you are. Daddy you taught me to speak the truth (no matter how hard it was) to be fair but not foolish (“those who bend too far will soon split pants”) you would always say to me. There are so many lessons. Dad you brought everyone together.  But now I think to myself who will text me every morning? Who will text me a long menu in the middle of  a crazy day inviting me for dinner? I love you Daddy-0 ❤️👴🏻🇱🇷

My father was my ephifany he was a caring , nurturing family man , who provided for his family since he stepped foot in this country without two pennies to rub together , since then he was a happy straight forward , tell it like it is , kind of a man , selfless , hard working and a great provider . I will miss our get togethers , although few and far apart sometimes , they meant the world to me.
Next time we meet up I will make your favorite fish dish  you loved from me so much. Thank you for a wonderful upbringing , memories that will instill in my heart , thank you for never forgetting me and loving me. You will forever live in my heart . I thought I wrote this yesterday but dont see it so if it is a repeat , I am sorry .

Paul was my husband. We were married for 59 years he was my first love. I will miss him. Our family thanks everyone for you support and god bless us all

He was a very strong individual, a very excellent provider, a good husband, a good father, He was a son, a brother, a uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a grandfather, a great grand father and a good friend and he make sure all their needs were met. We have our moments of happiness, sadness, fears, misunderstandings, disagreements, frictions, obstacles, but you can surpass all of these when u have very good concrete family foundation like you have and learn to forgive one another when it was a time of friction. No matter how easy or difficult the situation might be is nothing most stronger, powerful than LOVE and FAMILY.  He has a very outgoing personality, and a big heart, a kind person, always caring, it didn’t matter who you  was he will put a smile on ur face, he will give you a helping hand no matter what was ur circuntasnces or situation, lets not forget he enjoys cooking and feeding ppl, but it was what make him very happy, he loves flowers his favorite flowers was Red Roses and his favorite food was fish. He was outspoken, opinionated, straight forward person but in his own ways he always meant well. He will make jokes and sometimes he laugh on his on jokes that made it difficult to understanding him but just to seem him with such as contagious loud laughter u start to laugh with him too. No matter what the impact he made in each individual life is was full of good times and good memories. He when as far as to take photos and videos for every events he attended with his family, so we don’t forget those moments. It was a pleasure knowing you for almost 7 years, and have an opportunity to share good memories and times with you. I will miss ur food, music but most all ur loud laughter. I will not say good bye, because this is not a good bye this is “I will see you again.” I will always Love You and Miss You.

    As sad as this day has been for my family and I we have come together to lay our dad to rest. A man that dedicated his life to his wife and children spreading love sharing homemade meals and providing an example of integrity and will power for my siblings and I. 
     I myself have  the fondest memories of our childhood ,always feeling secure and loved  by our parents. I cherish his opinion and often ask myself what would dad do in this situation. This day has come to soon for us and as I mourn our loss I celebrate his life and his way of living. Dad if you can hear me you are and always will be my greatest hero and I’ve looked up to you then, now and forever. Rest In Peace and know you’ve done an incredible job!!!

What can I say about my father?  He loved every bit of life. He enjoyed every minute of it. From a cup of coffee to a extravagant meal. Offering too everyone what was on his plate. He captured soo many moments on film as if everyone of them was thee most important day of his life and it was because he lived each moment as his last. Dad you helped me through soo much I never thought I’d be without you. I imagine you where tired. I imagine you missing other family members who have passed on. It would be selfish of me to ask you to stay. 
Dad! I love and appreciate everything thing you have done for us. 

My grandfather was like a father to me, thank you for everything you’ve ever provided for me and helped me with. I watched you go from planning trips and teaching me how to drive to struggling to breathe. I’m so sorry you passed this way, but it’s for the best no more suffering, I love you so much and miss you more than ever. RIP
