NOVEMBER 23, 1929 – OCTOBER 7, 2023
Roberto Jimenez went home to be with Jesus October 7, 2023. He was born in Camaguey, Cuba on November 23, 1929 to Graciano Jimenez-Meza and Rafaela Valdez-Jimenez. He married his wife of 68 years, Mirella Ortiz-Jimenez in Baracoa, Cuba where they resided for 16 years with their five children, Roberto Esteven, Marta Elena, Felipe, Magdalena, and Mirella Ann. During their time in Baracoa, Roberto pastored an evangelical church until leaving his beloved Cuba and moving to Spain in 1971.
In 1972 Roberto moved with his family to the United States where he continued in ministry, dedicating his life to proclaiming the gospel and love of Jesus. To know him was to know a loving, forgiving, and Godly man.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and his son, Roberto Esteven; his son-in-law, Rafael Fernandez; and grandson, Sandro Fernandez.
He is survived by his sister Noelia Jimenez; His wife, Mirella Ortiz-Jimenez; and four children, Marta Jimenez-Martinez, Felipe Jimenez (Candy Jimenez), Magdalena Jimenez-Fernandez, and Mirella Jimenez-Lewis (Robert Lewis); 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Roberto found comfort in reading the Word with his family, recounting his many blessings, and singing “Oh How I Love Jesus.” We will miss singing, having family devotions, and praising the Lord with him until we are together again at the feet of Jesus.
A visitation for Roberto will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm at Caballero Rivero Hialeah, 373 W 9th Street, Hialeah, FL 33010.
