Rolando del Valle came from Cuba with his family to the United States when he was a little 8-year-old boy in 1959. Parents Jesus and Carmen, along with his older brother Jesus Jr., aka Chucho, settled in Miami, Florida. As a young man, Rolando had a passion for baseball, playing the sport all throughout his youth in Miami, he recalls his days at Corpus Christi among his most memorable. He graduated from Miami High in 1969. With a passion to be a pro baseball player, he suffered a knee injury, which caused him to pursue another career. He worked five-plus decades in the oil industry as a very successful salesman, and he loved life, Florida, and his children. He was always very loving and giving, especially to causes that involved helping children. His passions were sports, disco, and soul music. He is survived by his older brother, Jesus “Chucho” del Valle; his two sons, Roland del Valle and David del Valle; and his two grandchildren, Isabella del Valle and Ian del Valle. His sons love and cherish all the years and memories that they had with their father. His grandchildren know that he is now in paradise and will remember him as a kind and loving abuelo. Rolando will always be remembered as a true Miami original. One of the early Cuban boys to shape the city!
