Tomas is survived by his children, Tomas B Mendez, Edward Mendez, Virginia Mendez, Alicia Mendez and Ana Maria Jaureguy; his grandchildren, Anthony Ciero, Edward T Mendez, Kelsey Ann Mendez, Teresa Mendez, Alejandro Jaureguy, Adrian Jaureguy, and Alyssa Mendez, as well as his great grandchildren, Layla Mendez and Lincoln Mendez.

A visitation for Tomas will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 from 6:00 PM to midnight at Caballero Rivero Hialeah, 373 W 9 Street, Hialeah, FL 33010. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 15801 NW 67th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33014. A committal service will follow at Caballero Rivero Dade South, 14200 Sw 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186.
