

ALICE “FAYE” WHITENER HICKORY – Alice “Faye” Sigmon Whitener, 63 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born on May 13, 1951 in Catawba County, she is the daughter of Thelma Sigmon and the late Clyde Sigmon. Faye was a loving mother, nanny, and sister who loved to spend time with her family and granddaughters. She was very artistic and enjoyed doing crafts. Faye was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Whitener; sister, Phyllis Fisher; nephew, Marcus Fisher; and her Chihuahua, Skitz. Survivors include her mother, Thelma Sigmon of Hickory; daughter, Lori Cash and husband Steve of Hickory; granddaughters, Jordan Hayes and husband Thomas of Newton, Brooke Eggers of Hickory; siblings, Bud Sigmon and wife Debi of Conover, Rick Sigmon of Hickory, Cindy Sigmon of Hickory, Richard Vandenbosch of Hickory; niece, Savannah Brown of Hickory; and several nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Eric Blankenship officiating. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
