Barbara Ann Conway

HICKORY—Barbara Thomas Conway, 79 of Hickory passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Born in Greenville County, SC on July 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Delmer Preston and Zela Mae O’Shields Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard J. Conway Sr.; son Gregory Eugene Chandler. She is survived by her sons Ricky Ray Chandler of Hickory and Thomas “Mark” Chandler of Hickory; step sons Gregory A. Conway of Texas, and Richard J. Conway Jr. of Hudson; niece Judy Thomas Spivey and nephew Jimmy Thomas both of Florida; daughter-in-law Vanessa Conway of Hudson; grandsons Geoffrey K. Chandler, Brandon C. Conway and Justin M. Conway; great granddaughter Paisley Grace Conway. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2017 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at Highland Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Robison and Reverend Jesse Lott officiating.
