Born on August 6, 1949 Vienna, GA, he was the son of George Ivines Smith and the late Mary Hendrix Smith. He retired from the recreation and maintenance department of the city of Clifton, N.J. He was also a member of Fairgrove Baptist Church in Conover, NC.
Mr. Smith is survived by his father, George Ivines Smith of Vienna, GA.; cousin, Greta (David) O’Neal, who was like a sister, of Pinehurst, GA.; aunts, Odelle Hefner and Irene Catalana both of Hickory, NC; uncle, Grady Smith of Leesburg, GA.; and several cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Fairgrove Baptist Church in Conover, NC at 2 PM with Pastor Bobby Langston and Pastor Neil George officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-1:45 PM at the church.
