She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Buck Reid; daughter, Diane Blackburn and great granddaughter Vada Warren.
A strong and hardworking woman, Betty believed more in giving than receiving. Being an avid gardener, she was most happy in her garden, canning and baking; giving to those in need. “Granny” to most, you will truly be missed.
Survivors include her children, Phyllis (Bill) Kirby, Harrison (Tanya) Reid, Vickie (Jim) Bradshaw; grandchildren, Lisa Bare, Chuck Blackburn, Kristi Blackburn, Kim Hudson, Brandi Winebarger, Asher and Brett Bradshaw, Sydney Warren, Jacob and Isaac Reid; great grandchildren, Jared, Jordan and Maddison Bare, Alexis and Isaiah Myers, Cody Christenbury, Robbie Blackburn, Ty and Colt Winebarger and Elsy Warren; siblings, Bobby Nance, Maxine Nance, Brenda Tomlison and Kathy Morrison and many more extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2:30 pm with Reverend Mark Morris officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Caldwell County Hospice at 526 Robbinswood Place Hudson, NC 28638.
