Newton – Bobby Reuben Sizemore, 76 of Newton, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2019 at Carolina Caring of Newton, surrounded by his loving family following a battle with brain cancer. Bobby was a devoted husband, a great father and a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family and he also loved and served his Lord. Called to preach at the age of 21 he pastored three churches; Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 1969-1971, Mt. Bethel Baptist Church 1972-1973 and Westside Baptist Church 1974-1992 and then devoted 27 years of service with the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry in foreign countries.
Born on February 20, 1943 in Knoxville, TN, Bobby was the son of the late James Earnest Sizemore and Grace Jeffers Sizemore.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerry Sizemore and Sister Shirley Edyvean.
Survivors include, his wife of 59 years, Ruby Sizemore of the home and his 3 children, Beverly Wright and husband Ralph, James Sizemore and wife Terri and Mark Sizemore and wife Angie; brother, Jimmy Sizemore and wife Nellie; grandchildren, Tabatha Martin and husband Tony, Aundrea Fleury and husband Scott, Tiffany Allison and her husband Kevin, Justin Sizemore and wife Michaela and Lauren Sizemore; and great grandchildren, Chloe Grace Martin, Kiersten and Hayden Fleury, Dylan and Katie Allison and Hadley Jo Sizemore who all were his pride and joy.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 – Maiden Salem Road, Maiden, NC 28650 at 2:00 pm.
The Sizemore family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home.
