Mr. Bruce Allen Sweezy

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Jimmy Sweezy.

Bruce was an avid hunter with trips to many countries. He was an active member of the Catawba Valley Wildlife Club, having been a past president and served on the Board of Directors and the kitchen committee for many years. He was also a dedicated Hunter Safety instructor for 50 years; a lifetime member of the NRA and an active member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation for the N.C. Wildlife Commission

Bruce is survived by his wife of 54 years Delores Sweezy; daughter, Joan Marie Allmendinger and husband Randal and grandchildren, David and Rachel Allmendinger.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Catawba Valley Wildlife Club, 2182 Cat Square Road, Vale, NC 28168.
