

Carol Frances Cavaretta Moscone was born on December 24, 1941, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Louise Winston Cavaretta and Francis Cavaretta. She passed away on January 19, 2026, following a brief and sudden illness.
Carol was born and raised in Cambridge Massachusetts, where she developed the strength, independence, and resilience that would guide her throughout her life. Until meeting the love of her life, Eugene H Moscone Sr.
On February 19, 1960, Carol married Eugene H. Moscone Sr. They shared 51 years of marriage filled with devotion, partnership, and family before his passing on 5-5-2011. Their bond remained a constant presence in her life. In 1977, they moved their family from Billerica Massachusetts to Sunrise, Florida, eventually settling in North Carolina in 1994, where she made her home for many years.
Carol was the devoted mother of six children: Gina, Kim, Tina, Eugene, Beth, and Debbie. Her family continued to grow and brought her immense joy, including 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in life by her parents, Louise and Francis Cavaretta. Carol was one of four children, her siblings: two brothers, David and Francis Jr, and her sister, Diane, all whom have passed.
Carol loved playing card and board games and enjoyed trips to the casino, and loved playing bingo where her sharp mind and competitive spirit were well known. She was admired for her remarkable memory and stayed mentally sharp right until the end.
In her final days, Carol showed extraordinary courage and strength. She faced her passing without fear or anxiety, and her family believes she was ready to be reunited with her beloved husband Eugene after many years apart.
Carol will be remembered as a strong matriarch, a loving mother and grandmother, and a woman whose resilience, intelligence, and quiet courage touched all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the many generations she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
