She was born on July 19, 1931, to the late George Brittain and Essie Gilbert Brittain in Catawba County. Dot was a member of Sardis Lutheran Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vance V. Lutz, a grandson, two brothers and a sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Ricky Dale Lutz (Rita) of Vale, Michael Lutz (Dorothea Wyant) of North Myrtle Beach, Roger Lutz (Elaine) of Vale, grandchildren; Jonathan Lutz (Janelle) of Wendell, NC, Evan Lutz (Jennifer) of Grimesland, NC, Heather Coffey (Jesse) of Vale, and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31,2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Sardis Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12: 45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Pastor Oscar Shepherd will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
