Dorothy Starnes Robbins Newsome

HICKORY---Dorothy Rae Starnes Robbins Newsome, 79, passed away, Monday May 9, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Dorothy was born September 16, 1936 in Catawba County, to the late Floyd McRee Starnes and Letha Rae Griffey Starnes. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband Jack L. Robbins; second husband Samson Newsome and a brother Michael Starnes. Dorothy was a member of Bethlehem Church of God.

Surviving is a daughter, June Robbins, of Taylorsville; her sons, Lewis Robbins and wife Debbie of Granite Falls; Mark Robbins and wife Cynthia, of Taylorsville and Timothy Robbins and wife Debra of Beckley, West Virginia. Grandchildren, Merica Reitzel and husband Keith of Statesville, Tony S. Robbins of Concord, greatgrandchildren Hayley Anderson, Madison Robbins, and Ryker Roberts; sister Bobbie Campbell of Maiden; brother Jack Starnes of Caldwell County; sister-in-law Elvena Whitener and numerous nieces and nephews. The service will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 3:00pm at Bethlehem Church of God with Reverend Howard Smith and Reverend Stewart Lankford officiating. The family will receive 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Bethlehem Church of God. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Church of God cemetery.
