HICKORY – Earnest Conelly Robinson Jr. 73, of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2021.
Ernie was born on April 7, 1948 in Catawba County, to Myrtle Fox Robinson and the late Ernest Conley Robinson Sr. He was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Ernie was a US Air Force Veteran and member of American Legion, Post 544. He was a CPA for Lane Furniture and then he was with Lazy Boy Corporation. Later in life he was an administrator for Tri-City Baptist Church and volunteered for the Council on Aging.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Iris B. Robinson; son Sean Robinson and wife Misty; grandsons, Alston Robinson, Alec Robinson and Noah Bachman; mother, Myrtle F. Robinson; brother, Doug Robinson and wife Carol; sister, Lisa Owen and husband Tony; 2 nieces and one nephew.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Sturm officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM -2 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, Council of Aging, or Pregnancy Care Center.
