

ROSA ELAINE PITTMAN MCNEAL HICKORY – Elaine “Wormie” McNeal, 67 of Hickory went home to be with her Lord on September 29, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born on December 13, 1947 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late J. T. Claude and Martha Wright Pittman. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Fairbrook Baptist Church. Elaine enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her pinto beans and homemade biscuits. She worked as a knitter in the hosiery industry for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Pittman Coffey and grandson, Jeremy Brown. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Odell Carson McNeal; children, Kimberly Faye Cantor and husband David of Newton, Tammy Marlene McNeal of Hickory, Charles Wayne McNeal and wife Robin of Taylorsville, Joseph Dale McNeal and wife Nikki of Conover; grandchildren, Bradley Killian, Matthew Killian, Travis McNeal, Josh Chrisman, Ashley Litton, Chelsie Brown, Dylan McNeal, Dakota McNeal, Mikey McNeal, Emily McNeal; great-granddaughters, Blakely Ann Killian, Destany Litton; brothers, Tommy Pittman, Eddie Pittman; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 1 PM at Fairbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
