

CONOVER---Glenn David Hawn passed away on November 7, 2015 following a lengthy period of declining health. He was born October 28, 1938 to the late James Fredrick Hawn and Carrie Barger Hawn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl F. Hawn, a sister Martha Louise Hawn and a son-in-law Charles M. Biggar Jr. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Byers Killian Hawn; daughters Kristi Hawn Biggar and Toni Hawn Tallent; step-sons Charlie Killian (Elizabeth), Ken Killian (Deborah) and step-daughter Shannon Killian Rogers (Lee). Grandchildren include: Alex Barlowe, Jessica McGhinnis (Mark), Jarrett Killian (Alyssa), Blake Rogers and Meredith Rogers, sister Mary Broome; as well as a special nephew, Rodney Broome, nieces Amy Broome Richards and Carla Hawn Yoder; sister-in-law Janet Adcox Hawn. Glenn was employed in many skilled trades, including appliance repair, carpentry, electrical, and administrative work. He enjoyed tractors, classic cars and was a charter member of Foothills Antique Power Association and N. C. Wildlife Club. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:45pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Conover. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 3:00pm at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Conover, with Deborah Johnson, Diaconal Minister. He will be laid to rest at the church's cemetery.
