

Gloria Troutman Propst, a devoted mother, loving grandmother, cherished sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. Born and raised in Catawba County, Gloria was a woman of warmth, quiet strength, and enduring love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Wade Propst, her parents, Georgia Smyre Troutman and L.R. “Put” Troutman, and brother, Richard Troutman.
Gloria is survived by her two sons: Michael Propst of Hickory, and Lee Propst and his wife Tammy of Apex, NC. She leaves behind two treasured granddaughters who brought her immense joy: Brianna McGhee of Willow Spring, NC, and Ashlee Propst of Philadelphia, PA.
Gloria is also fondly remembered by her brother, Roscoe Troutman, and his wife Carolyn, as well as by her sister-in-law, Linda Troutman of Kure Beach, NC; and her five nieces and three great-nieces and two great-nephews, whose lives she touched with her kindness and steady presence.
Gloria’s legacy is one of quiet compassion, deep family devotion, and enduring love. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. Deacon Deborah Johnson will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
