Guy Rhyne Miller

He was born on September 9, 1929, to the late James Monroe Miller and Edith Hedrick Miller in Catawba County. Guy was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Guy was a masonry teacher at Newton Conover High School.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Ruth Lanier Miller, his brothers, Ray Miller, Glenn Miller, Max Miller, Bill Miller, Charles Miller and sister, Faye Braswell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Teresa Killian and husband Rick of Hickory, sons, Patrick Miller of Newton, Jonathan Miller and wife Karissa of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Amy Killian, Justin Killian and wife Tara, Logan Miller and wife Hannah, great grandchildren, Jordan Killian, Emory Killian, Ashton Killian, sister, Kathleen Hollar, brother Tommy Miller and wife Cathy.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at the church. Rev. Michael Collins will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Miller, Darrin Miller, Logan Miller, Tim Miller, Tony Miller and Justin Miller.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Graceview for providing abundance of love and care for Guy for the past two years. Also, to Carolina Caring Nurses, Brittany and Sarah, social worker Nina, for helping him navigate through many health issues.
