HICKORY---Harold Thomas Clontz, 89, passed away February 23, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Harold was born December 10, 1924 in Catawba Co. to the late Garland Thomas and Lela Mae Hollar Clontz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Collins, Mae Starnes and Clara Adams and a brother, Dempsey Clontz.He was a member of Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Taylorsville Congregation and retired from the furniture industry.Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ruth Clontz of the home; daughters, Joyce Lail of the home and Sue Clontz of Granite Falls; son, David Clontz and wife, Joye of Hampstead, NC and a brother, D. C. Clontz and wife Peggy; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.Services will be Saturday, March 1, at 2:00 P. M. at Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Taylorsville Congregation with Elder Vernon Bill Nance and Elder Doug Hall officiating.
