MAIDEN Harold Steven Houk, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born Nov. 30, 1950, in Catawba County, to the late Eulas and Johnnie Hicks Houk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Marshall; grandfather, George Houk; nephews, Hunter King and Lee Keller; and a niece, Courtney King. He was a member of Startown Baptist Church and a member of the Humane Society. He was a plant manager for Ridgeview Hosiery. He is survived by his brother, Danny Houk and wife, Carlene, of Maiden; his sisters, Elaine Keller and husband, Neil, of Shelby and Alta Dickinson, of Hickory; nieces, Amy Powell and husband, Barry, Kelley King and husband, Patrick Guins, Selena Lewis, Hayley Guins and Jennifer Roseman; nephews, Brad Keller and wife, Shannon, Kenny King and wife, Amanda and Darren Dickinson and wife, Melanie; and great-nieces and nephews, Brooke, Ethan, Victoria and Jordyn Powell, Cadence King, Spencer Dickinson, Lexin Roseman and Bradley Keller and Dakota Keller. Harold's wishes were to be a donor to Baptist Hospital for Science. The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
