

HICKORY - Hattie Pauline “Polly” London Hunt Summey, 86, passed away peacefully December 24, 2011 peacefully at her daughter’s residence after a three year period of declining health due to heart failure.
She held “court” until her passing, handling all the details of daily life. Polly was a strong Godly woman who enjoyed all of God’s creations, especially her fresh garden vegetables, flowering plants, animals both wild and domestic. Her greatest joy was time with her great-grandchildren and the endless games and love she shared with them.
Hattie was born October 15, 1925 in Cleveland Co. to the late Ivey and Vertie Mae White London.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Lloyd Hunt, son, Paul Hunt, II, her second husband, Charles Summey and three brothers, Carrol, James and Gene London.
She was a charter member of St. Johns United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her daughter; Paulette Repasy and husband, Paul of Hickory, grandsons; Shawn Repasy and wife, Corrie of Leland, NC, Jason Repasy and wife, Rachel of Asheville and Ryan Repasy and wife, Crystal of Hickory, four great grandchildren, Alex, Jayden, Lucas and Sophia.
Services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 11:00 A. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kim Fox Dowell officiating.
Private interment will be in Catawba Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 until 10:45 A. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
