Helen Bernice Sigmon

Helen Bernice Sigmon, age 79, of Hickory, NC, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born April 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Odell Sigmon and Sadie Jones Sigmon. Helen was retired from Frank’s Hosiery after working there for many years. She was a very good hearted person and enjoyed making friends and family happy. Helen loved her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert O. Sigmon and Sadie J. Sigmon; brother, Douglas Sigmon; and sister Faye Sigmon.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Hope Brooks, Patricia Hedrick and Yvonne Hedrick, all of Hickory; sons, David Hedrick of Hickory, Charlie Watson and wife, Sheila, of Hickory, Darrell Hedrick and Bruce Hedrick of Vale, NC; grandchildren, April Terry and husband, Randy, Jennifer Leonhardht, Matthew Leonhardht, Jessica Huffman, Nicole Ingle, Stephanie Watson and Charles Watson and wife, Crystal, all of Hickory. Helen had 12 great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Bethel United Church of Christ, 4547 Bethel Church Road, Hickory, NC 28602 with Rev. Whitey Hedrick officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
