Jack McDonald Wagner

Born July 20, 1936 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Earl Hubert Wagner and Edna Lean Lail Wagner. Jack, a member of The Chapel in Hickory; retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. after 37 years and he loved vegetable gardening.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ann Wagner; brothers, Glenn Wagner and Lewis Wagner.

Left to cherish Jack’s memory are his daughter, Jackie Fowler of Hickory; step-daughter, Cindy Caldwell and husband Greg of Hickory; step-son, John Allen Wagner and wife Kim of Hickory; grandchildren, Brittany Caldwell, Christopher Caldwell, Malia Wagner and Avery Wagner; great grandson, Colton Jones; brothers, Hugh Wagner of West Jefferson, Joe Wagner of Weddington, NC and Mack Wagner of Hickory; sisters, Kathleen Travis of IL and Earlene Steirs of SC; and his beloved dog, Foxy.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Hickory with Rev. Dr. Dale Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., prior to the service.
