Jack Wyatt

Jack Wyatt, 91, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2015. Born December 18, 1923 in Yancey County to the late Grant and Abbie Buchanan Wyatt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandpa. He was an avid fisherman, huge Braves fan, loved watching birds and squirrels, and spending time outdoors. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in Hickory. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Daisy Jarrett Wyatt; four brothers; and five sisters. Survivors include four children, Hazel (Ken) Penland, Danny (Billie Jean) Wyatt, Connie (Ron) Pratt, Sheree (Jimmy) Brown; grandchildren, Stirling, Tonya, Christopher, Michael, Jacob, and AJ; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Jack, Caiden, and Emma; and brother, Brown Wyatt. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 7pm at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Price officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2pm at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Green Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6-7 at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
