John "Pat" Dexter Patterson Jr.

“Pat” was born November 15, 1923 in Rhinebeck, NY to the late John Dexter Patterson, Sr. and Marie Davies Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Patterson.

He was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, a graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, PA. and served in the US Navy and US Army in the post WW II Occupation and Korean Conflict. He was the retired manager of Heely Brown in Simpsonville, SC.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mary Adie Patterson of Conover, daughter; Rev. Penelope Patterson Urbaniak and husband, Ronald of Banner Elk, sons; John “Jack” D. Patterson, III and wife, Beth and Robert “Bob” Patterson and wife, Louisa both of Hickory, granddaughters, Katrina Purdy, Lauren Patterson and Terra Bailey, grandsons; John D. Patterson, IV and Alec Patterson, 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial services will be Monday, August 1, 2011, at 3:00 PM at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with Father Randy Ferebee officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 130 39th. Ave. Pl., N. W., Hickory, N., C. 28601.
