Judy C. Young

Judy C. Young, 71 of Hildebran went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was born on May 5, 1943 in Hickory to Ronda and Thelma Johnson Minton and lived in the area her entire life. Judy was a former member of Drowning Creek Baptist Church in Rhodiss. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Judy spent her life taking care of others and was loved by all who knew her. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandson and was the foundation of her family. Judy is survived by her children, Penny McGhinnis and husband Paul of Hudson, Terry Young of Hickory, and Jane Young and boyfriend Scott Brown of Hildebran; brother, Bobby Minton and wife Gladys of Taylorsville; sister, Marie Young and husband Alan of Stanley; grandchildren, Ashley McGhinnis, Kenzie Young, Jarrette Young and Trenton Young; great grandson, Bryston McGhinnis and several nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Johnson and sister, Sue Christenbury. The family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8PM Friday, February 27 at Catawba Funeral Home in Hickory. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 12 noon at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
