Linda Faye Crowder Swayngim

HICKORY — Linda Faye Crowder Swayngim, 69, loving and admired wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away December 29, 2012 under the care of Frye Regional Hospital following a period of declining health.

Linda was born December 15, 1943 in Asheville NC to the late Jess L. and Pansy Mae Riddle Crowder In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband of 36 years, Jon C. Swayngim, brothers: Charles Crowder, Cecil Crowder, John Crowder, Harvey T. Crowder and sisters: Ruth Filkins and Dorothy Hyatt

Linda loved to travel sew and make crafts. Her pride was in her family. She was of the Baptist Faith and retired from H.T. Hackney.

She is survived by a daughter Kimberly Kelley and husband Rick, sons Jon Swayngim, Jeffery K. Swayngim and wife Lorie all of Hickory, NC. Grandchildren: Benjamin Bower of Wilmington, NC, Kristin Pezzimenti and husband Joey of Lincolnton, NC, Brooke, Madison and Mikenzie Swayngim of Hickory, NC. Step grandchildren Lacey Swayngim of Va. Jame’ Sloan of Newton, NC, Savana Pearson and Jason Kelley of Hickory, NC great granddaughter Layla Faye Lewis of Hickory and step great grandsons Nate Kelley and Max Gilbert.

Services will be Monday, December 31, at 3:00 P. M. at Temple Hill Baptist Church, Dudley Shoals, with Reverend Charles Murrell officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:45 PM until 2:45 P. M. at the church.

At other times the family will be at the home of Kimberly Kelley.
