MARY RUTH ALLISON SINGLETON HICKORY – Mary Ruth Allison Singleton, 74, of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Sherrills Ford. Born on March 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Lee Allison Meadows. She loved spending time with her loved ones. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Mary was very spiritual, she enjoyed her devotional time and gospel music. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Singleton; her son, Charles (Chuck) T. Singleton; brothers, Elbert Meadows Jr., Boyd Lee Meadows, James T. Meadows. Survivors include her children, Kathy (Kat) Gibson and husband A. Carson of Hickory, Bonnie K. Ellenburg and husband Bobby Riddell of Lexington, KY, Brian K. Singleton and wife Laura of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Jessica Gibson of Hickory, Crystal Singleton of Knoxville, TN, Alison Albright and husband Matthew of Tulsa, OK, Blake Singleton and wife Krista of Tulsa, OK, Logan Singleton of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren, Cassie Colwell, Nathaniel Colwell, Tylisha Oates MaryGrace Gibson; sisters, Beulah Rathbone of Waynesville, Wanda Wright of Hickory; best friend, Sonya Salazar of NM; her fur baby, Butch.
