Mattie Fredell Scronce

Mattie Jane Fredell Scronce, 89 Of Hickory passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Springs of Catawba following a period of declining health. Mattie was born in Catawba County to the late Joe and Essie Wortman Fredell. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Boyd Franklin Scronce, her sisters. Hattie Davis, Hettie Willis, and Vonita Hull and a brother, Cleotis Fredell. Mattie was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Vale and retired from Ellis Hosiery. She is survived by a daughter, Janice Scronce Fleming of Hickory, a grandson, Cassidy Chase Fleming and wife, Lucy of Mountain View, CA, her sisters, Mettie Pruitt of Lawndale, George Ann Mitchem, and Madeline Cook both of Vale. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 6th, 2014 from 10:30am to 11:00 am at Beulah Baptist Church prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 6, 2014 at 11:00am Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend R.A. Brackett officiating. Burial will follow at church cemetery.
