Melvin was born February 25, 1936 in Burke Co. to the late Walter Austin and Cora Herman Brannock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ben Brannock and a sister, Nora Brannock.
He was a member of Hildebran United Methodist Church and retired from William Hosiery.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Parsons Brannock of the home,
daughter; Teresa McNabb and husband Douglas of Rapid City, S. D.,
son; Dwayne Brannock and friend Michael Johnson of Syracuse, N. Y.,
a brother; Austin Brannock
and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, July 8, at 2:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ernest Richards officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakwood cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 until 8:30 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
