Michael Wayne Newell, age 67, of Hickory, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was born on Sunday, March 3,1957 in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Herbert and Theresa Loving Newell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Travis Newell
Michael is survived by his daughter Tiffany Temple and husband Matt; grandson Colton Temple; brother Dennis Newell and wife Mary, step-daughter, Jennifer Haywood; niece Ashley and nephews Chris and Bryan Newell; his former wife and the mother of his children, Paula Newell and special golf buddies, Charlie and Ed.
Michael was a loving Dad, Pawpaw and brother. He enjoyed golf, before his health issues, he would be on the golf course daily. He also enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle,BBQ, painting and faithfully watched church services. Michael had a strong faith in God.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
