Mildred Ross

MILDRED HAYWORTH ROSS NEWTON-Mildred Hayworth Ross, 86, of Newton went home to be with her Lord on November 30, 2014. Born on January 30, 1928 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd Avery and Eva Bolick Hayworth. Mildred was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford (Bill) Ross, three brothers, Howard, Jimmy, and Donald. Survivors include her children, Roger Hicks and wife Tina of Asheville, Kimberly Delamarter and husband Bobby of Hickory, Tamara Martin and husband Tracy of Newton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 3, 2014 at 12 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Edwin Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 AM-12 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, 28658.
