Muriel Edith Leonard

Granite Falls– Muriel Brittain Leonard, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Trinity Ridge Nursing Home. Muriel was born on May 31, 1931 in Burke County to the late Gete Lee and Alice Young Brittain. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband James Russell Leonard; brothers; Claude Brittain, Guy Brittain, and Homer Brittain, sisters; Dorothy Justice, Edna Kiser, and Bernice Cline. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter Kim Hollars husband Danny of Lenoir, son; Dennis Leonard wife Susan of Hudson, sister; Velvia Clark of Bethlehem, grandchildren; Joshua Hollars of Lenoir, Jessica Wisniewski husband Carl of Normal, IL, Charity Huffman husband Chris of Lenoir, great grandchildren; Max Wisniewski and Lula Wisniewski of Normal, IL. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church.

The Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church. Reverend John David Bryant will be officiating the services. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 1911 Zion Lutheran Church Road, Hickory, NC 28602.
