Myra Lee Johnson

Hickory – Myra Lee Merricks Johnson, 77 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, NC, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 9th, 1947, in Danville, VA., Myra was the daughter of the late Lewis Crayton Merricks and Barbara Haynes Merricks Fletcher. Myra retired from Sprint/Century Link after 35 years of devoted service.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her son, Shane Johnson (Amanda); 3 granddaughters, Candace Dingler (Bryan) of Hickory, Shania Holt (Cody) of Morganton, and Amber Severt of Lenoir.

She was abundantly loved by her 9 great grandchildren, Christian, Charleigh, Casey, Oaklin, Tucker, Emberlyn, Khloe, McKena, and Nolan who were her world, as well as numerous cousins.

A private celebration of life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home with Reverend John Norman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Carolina Caring of Newton in Myra Johnson's name.
