Phyllis Carol Dunbar Miller

Phyllis Carol Dunbar Miller, 70, of Hickory, passed away April 9, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born April 22, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Troy Ellis Dunbar and Birdie Edith Copp Dunbar. She was previously employed as a social worker with DSS, handling adult Medicaid.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James “Bubby” Dunbar.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 49 years, Peter “Pete” Miller; daughter, Kerry Miller Eischen of Fuguay Varina; son, Brian Miller and wife Aimee of Valdese; grandchildren, Zoë and Jacob Eischen and Abbey and Liam Miller; sisters, Betty Gregg, Bonnie Henley and Velma Bailey, all of Chuckey, TN; brother-in-law, Bob Miller and wife Kim of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law, Kathy Linebarger and husband Bill of Johnson City, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Pastor David Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
