

Alvin was born May 15, 1935 in Catawba County to the late James Paul and Vonnie Virl Fleming Lane.
He was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church and plant manager for Uniform Rental for 32 years and retired from Hickory Springs Foothills Mfg. as a shipping supervisor.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Robinette Lane of the home;
two sons Rev. Eric Lane and wife Beth of Granite Falls, Kyle Lane and wife Teirsa of Conover;
daughter Ginella Hurley and her husband William of Hickory; and Peggy Duncan the mother of his children,
three step-sons Jerry Robinette of Taylorsville, Lyle Belcher and wife Aleece of Maiden, Gary Belcher and wife Angel of Conover;
a step-daughter Lovelia Graham and husband Jeffery of Conover;
nine grandchildren,
seventeen step- grandchildren,
three great grandchildren;
a sister, Peggy Lane Clark of Conover;
a brother James “Jim” Lane and wife Janice of Hickory;
uncle, Newbern Fleming of Hickory, aunts, Rosetta Jackson of Hickory and Penny Allen of Charlotte
and his beloved animal friend, Taz.
Funeral services will be Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with the Reverends Eric Lane and Brian Correll officiating.
Interment will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:45 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
