ROBERT LEWIS HUMPHREYS JR. NEWTON – Robert Lewis Humphreys Jr., 78 of Newton passed away on July 6, 2014 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born on December 28, 1935 in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Robert Lewis Humphreys Sr. and Evelyn Emswiler Humphreys. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Air Force. Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Robert and James Humphreys. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Jill Humphreys of Newton; daughter, Carol Marlowe of Greensboro; step-son Ryan Baker and wife Heather of Hickory; six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
