GRANITE FALLS – Robert Franklin Painter, 75 of Granite Falls lost his hard fought battle with cancer on July 1, 2022 and passed peacefully into his Heavenly Father’s arms surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 9, 1947 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Dock Franklin and Katherine Cobb Painter.
A member of Christ Lutheran Church, he was retired from Southwood Furniture and a Veteran of the US Army. Robert enjoyed serving his Lord as an Usher at Christ and made it a point to attend service as often as he was able.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Painter, Jr, step-sons, David and Todd Bradshaw, and a brother, Jack Painter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jean Yount Painter, his adoring daughters, Lisa Painter Hager and husband Kenny, Ann Painter Fernandez and husband Enrico, proud son, David Painter and wife Amey; step-daughter, Shawn Bradshaw Terry and husband David, brother Michael Painter Sr, 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 2 PM at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastors Richard Tucker and Alec Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM -2 PM at the church.
