

A beloved wife, cherished mother, and devoted friend, Sherry was known for her kind, sweet and gentle spirit, loving compassion, and sincere interest in others. Her warmth and caring nature touched everyone who knew her.
Sherry grew up in Morganton and later lived in Tennessee and Georgia during her teenage years. She studied Home Economics at Austin Peay State University and later attended culinary school. Although she enjoyed many interests and talents, her lifelong profession was serving as an Assistant Clerk of Superior Court for Burke and Catawba Counties, where she dedicated 32 years of loyal service.
A faithful member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Sherry was welcomed and loved by her church family and community alike.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Eckard; adoring daughter, Wendy Wagner and husband Charlie; brother, Eric Plemmons and wife Leslie; sister, Brenda McCall Anderson and husband John; stepson, Will Eckard and wife Spencer; stepdaughter, Marcella Eckard; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Plemmons Jr.; stepfather, Harry Plemmons Sr.; and stepson, Michael Eckard.
Sherry will always be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

A service celebrating and honoring the life of sweet Sherry will be held at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Conover, on Tuesday, May 26, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in Morganton.
