Shirley Jean Lackey

Shirley Jean Lackey, 86 of Connelly Springs, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on September 21st, 1937 in Catawba County. Shirley was the daughter of the late Guy Edward Lowman and Helen Stewart Lowman. Shirley was an amazing woman, teaching her own self to read and write. Shirley worked briefly outside the home and enjoyed her job as a Hickory City School Crossing Guard. Her most accomplished job was that of homemaker and mom. Having been chosen to be the mother of a mentally handicapped son made her life a living testimony. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed being a Gree (grandma, great grandma). In her later years, she became a huge President Trump supporter.

MEGA MAGA. She never missed an opportunity to watch his rallies or other events.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Adam Lackey, four sisters and three brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include, a son, Danny Paul Lackey of Nebo; two daughters, Pamela Lackey of Hildebran and Michelle Greene (Gary) of Lenoir; a granddaughter, Dia Hefner (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Addyson, Connor, Brock and Kason; a grandson, Colten Greene (Jessica) and a great granddaughter, Maebry; one sister, Sally Sigmon and three brothers, Jim Lowman, Guy Lowman and Jerry Lowman. Sje was alo beloved by many nieces and nephews, as well as, special friends. She will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.
