HICKORY – Terrell Alan Huffman, 73 of Hickory went to be with his Heavenly Father after peacefully passing away at home on Friday, May 30, 2025. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on June 2, 1951, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Jack Dorman and Betty Sipe Huffman. Terry was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he helped with community meals and ushered. Terry formerly worked in the oil fields of LA for over 10 years and then retired from the printing industry. He graduated from Newton Conover High School where he ran track, played football and wrestled. Terry loved NASCAR, working in Maxine’s gardens, playing the lottery, talking to people and family gatherings. He touched the lives of numerous students that Maxine helped with their studies after school and the many nieces and nephews in the family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael L. Shook.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 29 years, Maxine Huffman; siblings, Jackie Shook, Vicki Smith and husband Gerald, Marty Huffman and wife Jackie; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his spoiled cat, Cookie Sue.
A Memory Celebration will be held on June 14, 2025, at 11 AM in the Parish Center at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1911 Zion Church Rd, Hickory NC 28602. You are welcome to wear your Trump and NASCAR attire in memory of Terry. Bring memories you would like to share of Terry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Sipe’s Orchard Home, Inc.
