Thomas was born on March 5, 1948 in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of the late George Jake McCorkle and Martha Graham McCorkle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, George McCorkle; and a sister, Nettie McCorkle Coulter.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ivey Hightower McCorkle; daughters, Amanda and Susan McCorkle; grandchild, Peyton Simpson; brothers, L. Howard (Carrie) and Alfred ( Mary) McCorkle; sisters, Martha E. Turner and Dorothy M. Lackey (Bill).
A Funeral Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Minister Raymond Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45am at the Funeral Home.
