Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Presnell

HICKORY---Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Presnell, 59, passed away on Sunday March 30, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.Tommy was born May 5, 1954 in Alexander County to Evelyn Walker Presnell and the late Buster Presnell. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Presnell. Tommy was a loving husband, father, son, brother and most of all a loving grandfather who loved to be a jokester. He was member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Jaycees.He was a truck driver for Carpenter Company and was known as “Shy Town”. Surviving are his wife, Revonda Hefner Presnell of the home, three daughters, Kelly Harris and husband Tony of Granite Falls, Traci Kleve of Fort Worth, TX, Denise Barber and husband Travis of Lenoir, a son Brian Weaver and wife, Annette of Statesville, five grandchildren, Dylan Weaver, Alyssa Weaver, Kristin Barber, Tyler Barber, Emily Kleve, his mother Evelyn Walker Presnell, two brothers, David Presnell, Steve Presnell, two sisters, Kathy Kirby and Gale Kirby and his mother-in-law, Katherine Hefner also of the home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 2:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Church officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 12:30 P.M.to 1:45 P.M. at Hickory Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory-Lincolnton Hwy, Newton, NC.Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 419 South Hawthrone Road, Winston Salem, NC 27103 .
