Vernon C Kiser

Vernon Clyde Kiser, 80 of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

Born November 30th, 1945, in Cleveland County, NC, Vernon was the son of the late Clyde Coy Kiser and Beda Flo Rudisill Kiser. Vernon loved to fish and work in the yard. He was a devoted employee for the Pepsi Bottling Company for 53 years. He was loved by all his neighbors and friends. He was also loved by his family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Rebecca Ann Eller Kiser; his 2 sisters, Kay Hoyle and Jesse Houston; his brother, Dale Kiser.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Gary Kiser and wife, Tina Kiser; his daughter, Louann Stamey, and late husband, Alan Stamey; his grandchildren, Nathan Kiser, and wife, Jennifer Kiser, Jonathan Stamey, and fiancé, Tara Mills, Kristy Kiser, Joshua Stamey and wife, Shana Stamey, Brittney Stamey, and many loved great grandchildren, as well as many brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Matt Holman officiating. He will be laid to rest at Catawba Memorial Park after the service.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring of Newton in Vernon’s name.
