

Catawba – Watkins Castleberry Bradberry Jr., 79 of Catawba, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5th, 2026, at Sherril’s Ford Hospice/Carolina Caring surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on July 7th, 1946, in McDowell County, Watkins was the son of the late Watkins Castleberry Bradberry, Sr. and Elizabeth Hollifield Bradberry. Watkins was an avid motorcyclist. He served during Vietnam as a Navy Jet Electrical Technician in Corpus Christi, Texas. He also served as Deacon at Fairgrove Baptist Church and Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Bradberry; his brother, Charles Bradberry and his daughter, Misty Buzze.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Bruce Bradberry, his brother, Ken Bradberry, and his sister, Vicki Abee Holcomb and their spouses, as well as 2 stepsons, Tim Childers and Scott Edwards (Jane). Also left to cherish his memory are four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews and their families. He is also leaving behind 2 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring in Sherrill Ford in Watkin’s name.
