Wayne McCorkle, age 60, passed away on April 17, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born on May 25, 1965, to Dorothy McCorkle Lackey and the late Bill Lackey, Wayne will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Hickory Funeral Home, Chapel, 1031 11th Ave Blvd SE, Hickory, NC 28602, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
Burial will be at Central Cemetery in Newton, NC, on May 2, 2026.
