HICKORY – William “Alfred” Keller, 90 of Hickory went home to be with his beloved wife, Toye “Mini” on March 2, 2026 at Carolina Caring.
Born on June 9, 1935 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late George and Ethel Brady Keller. Alfred was a devoted member of the Mason’s, Shriners and the Moose Lodge 1705. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. Alfred retired from MDI after 42 years. He collected clocks, coins, and working outside. After he retired he enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises with his family. Alfred loved spending time at his camper on Lake James. He loved eating at Cracker Barrel when traveling with the Shriners.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Toye Hamby Keller, son, Bobby Carroll Hildebran; siblings, Harvey, George, Clyde, Beulah, Lucille, and Ralph.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Randy Keller and wife Connie, Ronnie Keller, Jeffrey Keller and wife Kim, Tracey Keller Childers; grandchildren; Deana, Marybeth, Ron, Kristen, Natasha, Tonya, Jeffrey Jr., Keisha, Tiffany, Duncan, Hillary; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Nikolai, Donovan, Carson, Skylar; sister, Eva Mae “Boots” Claywell; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior from 1 PM - 2 PM at the funeral home.
A special thanks to Hillary Bowlin for taking care of her Paw Paw, she was a true hero in all she did for her best friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba County Shriners.
